派手にプロポーズをして、結果、手ひどくふられてしまった気の毒な男性の話です。
I was reading a magazine, and I read an article about a man, who was excited to propose to his girlfriend only to be miserably rejected.
He said that the girl loved the whole celebrity thing. He thought and thought, and finally decided to print his pictures and her name in a national newspaper on St. Valentine’s day. He was smiling holding a big sign saying, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
On February 14th, he ran to a newspaper stand, and bought the paper. He carefully cut out the article and placed it inside a card. He was so excited thinking about the moment he would give the card to her.
At the lunch, he checked his cell phone. He had eight missed calls, all of which were from his girlfriend. She had so many people on the phone saying, “Congratulations!” and she was very upset. She was furious.
She cruelly dumped him, and he was left alone.
If I were her, how would I feel? Maybe, I would feel a little embarrassed, but I do not think I would get angry nor dump him…

彼は結局手ひどくふられて１人ぼっちになってしまいました。
私がそういう経験をしたらどうでしょうね。やっぱりちょっと恥ずかしいですね（笑）
でも、私だったら怒ったり、彼をふったりはしないと思いますが・・・
